
Fabulous and rare Zwiener Jansen Successeur, Louis XV style bureau à gradin, or tiered desk. The upper structure of kidney-shape form, the desk decorated on all sides with magnificent kingwood and satinwood marquetry, enhanced by superbly cast ormolu mounts, an elegant white enamel dial clock with gilt accented and painted floral swags, four small drawers flanking an open compartment, with a new gilt tooled leather writing surface above a single frieze drawer, the sides fitted with two secret drawers, the whole standing on cabriole legs terminating in exquisite paw sabots.
Bronze dore of the center front drawer with mark and date 1902. Mounts removed reveal the mark ZJ on reverse.
