Charming American Aesthetic period, sterling silver butter dish by Starr & Marcus of New York, NY. The dish detailed with scrolls and with a humming bird and foliate border, two acanthus leaf handles, inset with a pierced liner and topped with a figural seated cow finial lid also detailed with foliage and flowers, and front and back centered cartouches (no mono). Circa 1875– 1877.
