
A fine set of personal toilet accoutrements designed and created for His Majesty King Frederick VIII of Denmark (1906-1912) by the Paris firm of C.H. Pillivuyt and Cie.
C.H. Pillivuyt, known for the lustrous quality of their hard-paste porcelain, exhibited at all the major national and international exhibitions of the mid and late nineteenth century, winning (1887) the Medaille d’Or , and (1900) the Grand Prix at the Paris Exposition Universelle. A large bottle in luminous shades of green was bought by the South Kensington Museum (now the V&A) from the firm’s Paris Exhibition in 1876.
