A fine polychrome painted and glazed majolica pedestal comprising an elongated tapering rectangular column applied with strap work, trailing foliage and flower-heads surmounted by a square capital with narrow frieze and heavy volute scrolls supporting draped swags and flat platform top, the pedestal raised on an elaborate steeped base decorated with acanthus leaves, paterae and flower-heads.
Underside stamped and inscribed Rorstrand, Sweden.
