A fabulous Italian (signed Nove) 19th century faience mirror of rococo form, the oval mirror-glass surrounded by a sepia leaf-painted border, the frame rising to a shield-shaped crest depicting (in sepia) Venus and Cupid, surmounted above a riot of shell-shaped and c-shaped curves, beneath, two leaf-shaped cartouches are polychrome painted with bunches of flowers, at the base two seated gargoyle figures flank an oval cartouche depicting a sepia waterscape scene with boats and figures.
