An imposing Italian Baroque parcel gilt and paint decorated cassapanca incorporating antique and later elements. The cresting headed by a bold shell within scrolls and centered by a cartouche painted with an armorial device inscribed with the motto A CASTILLA YA LEON NUEBO MUNDO DIO PINZON, above a panel back within rectangular stiles and scroll arm supports, the rectangular seat with molded edge on a in swept base ending in scroll feet, the whole gilt heightened with bold scrollwork against a faux marble and cream painted ground.
