A sensational Spanish Colonial 18th century, oil on canvas painting showing the Pope or Saint three-quarter turned sitting in a Renaissance-style leather chair before a desk on which are placed a number of books, the painting mounted in a elegantly carved (probably 19th century) gilt-wood frame with mirrored inclusions the painting lined and restored as consistent with age.
