Early 19th C. Italian Renaissance Style Credenza

A wonderful carved walnut credenza of rectangular form in three sections with interior shell space. The steeped entablature with carved border surmounting a wide frieze incorporating one long drawer with centrally placed mask head, joined by acanthus scroll volutes to a larger central body, two symmetrical door panels carved with grotesque ornament and incorporating medallions with male and female heads (left and right) a centrally placed vertical panel depicting a pair of birds perched on a flower stalk are flanked by vertical panels with putti and flowing foliate vines, supported on steeped base raised on two ball and two rectangular feet.
